Hi there,
Thank you again for volunteering at the European Athletics Championships!
We hope you enjoyed being part of the event and creating a warm welcome for athletes, spectators and visitors from across the world. Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the time, energy and enthusiasm of volunteers like you – we couldn’t have done it without you.
We would love to hear what being a part of the Championships meant to you. Please take a moment to share your experiences with us below (survey closes 5pm on 4th October).
We weren’t the only ones who also wanted to thank you for your time and invaluable contribution…
The athletes from this year’s European Athletic Championships wanted to take a moment to thank you themselves…
Sanjay Bhandari, the Chair of Athletic Ventures wanted to take a moment to offer his heartfelt thanks and congratulations.
The Volunteers Collective (VC) was set up following the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games to create more opportunities for volunteers to give their time, skills and experience back to the region.
We connect thousands of volunteers with events, helping provide a warm welcome and boost civic pride across Birmingham and the West Midlands. Through the VC, we provide volunteer workforce and event expertise, helping make Birmingham and the West Midlands a leading destination for major events.
In 2025/26, volunteers supported 49 events, working with 27 organisations and generously donating more than 6,000 hours of their time.
The Volunteers Collective is run by the team at United By 2022 Charity, the legacy charity of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Joining is simple. You’ll complete a short registration form and, from there, volunteering opportunities at events across the region will appear in your volunteer portal, or you’ll be notified by email. If an event takes your fancy, simply register your interest and take it from there!
What’s coming up?
We have an exciting pipeline of events coming to the region. Coming up next, you can expect opportunities around the Yonex Badminton World Championships, Birmingham Light Festival and, of course, the Birmingham 2027 Invictus Games.
