The Challenge

Chantelle Orris, Artistic Director, set up the Disorderly Company in order to bring to light enviromental issues in fun and creative ways!

Chantelle was passionate about engaging primary school children and educating them about the importance of looking after the environment, keeping the canals clean and picking up after yourself, in order to protect local wildlife.

The Idea Made Real

Working with the Canal & River Trust, Disorderly identified x3 locations along the canal that most needed a clean. The clean up was led by actors who were playing characters from “Zooconian sea adventures”. Using the rubbish collected from the canals the children helped build the notorious villain from “Zoocoinan sea adventures” the Kraken, the rest of the rubbish was recycled.

The sculpture was gifted to the Canal & River Trust to display in their centre. After the clean up, the Disorederly team invited the young people who participated in the clean up, to watch a performance of the “Zooconian sea adventures” where they saw the characters they met in the clean up live on stage!
