Event volunteering, youth volunteering, skilled volunteering – we do it all!
With over 2,500 legacy Games volunteers, partnerships with local businesses offering skilled volunteers, and an award-winning youth volunteering programme under our belt, volunteering, in all its shapes and sizes, is our bread and butter.
We offer 3 different types of volunteering:
Whether it’s a major sporting event, or a community festival, our place-based volunteers are always the icing on the cake! Don’t take out word for it, we asked a few of our volunteers what they love about it:
Our Volunteer Collective is a 2,500 strong, place-based volunteer workforce for events across the West Midlands.
Local people, with local knowledge, bags of local pride, ready to offer your visitors a warm Brummie welcome!
We offer 3 tiers of service (subsidised by the Charity to make it affordable for all):
Free – use our portal to advertise your event, the volunteers apply directly to you, you then shortlist and manage their onboarding.
Partial fee – we know resources can be tight, so we can advertise your event, shortlist applicants, allocate shifts and manage the onboarding, for a subsidised fee which covers our staff time.
Full fee – we offer a 360 service which includes all of the above, plus on venue training and our team on site at your event, managing shifts – we delivered this for the 4-day Sport Accord conference at the ICC, which had 1,700 delegates and used 130 of our volunteers. Here’s what they had to say about our service…
Since 2021 we have provided award winning (& free to access) employability boosting volunteer opportunities for disadvantaged young people aged 16-24.
Specifically designed to support young people who face barriers to accessing opportunities, maybe they are a young carer or parent, have a criminal record, or lack confidence to engage with society. We work with organisations to offer a 30-hour volunteer assignment, which often leads on to paid employment.
We also offer support and funding to young people wanting to improve their communities through social action.
There are some fantastic businesses that call the West Midlands home.
All of those Businesses have brilliant people with tonnes of skills and experience. We connect those skilled people with not for profit community groups who need a hand with their marketing, budgeting, bid writing – you name it!
So why not use your volunteering day to really make a difference to your community.
